Student dreams can become a reality.

Mission Statement

The Center nurtures high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business, and encourages collaboration between leaders in the global community.

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) was founded in 1983 by the late Admiral H. G. Rickover, Father of the nuclear navy and of civilian uses of nuclear power, and Joann P. DiGennaro, CEE’s President. They recognized that assisting young scholars to scientific, technological, and business careers is an essential investment in a nation’s global future.

CEE is a nonprofit organization registered as a 501© (3) under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. CEE is incorporated in Washington, DC, and the organization is residenced and registered by law in DC and Virginia. As such, the Center provides charitable programming for high ability high school and university students and middle school and high school teachers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).   Programs with a fee such as the CEE Advisory and Consultancy (CEE A&C) are allowed by U.S. law as long as the revenue is minimal to the over-all revenue received by CEE each year.
