CEE Welcomes New Staff

McLean, VA (February 25, 2021) – The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) announces new staff members to further its mission of nurturing careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for academically talented high school and college students. Julia Ham and Emily Lewis have joined CEE.

Julia Ham, Development Analyst, previously worked as an assistant and coordinator alongside the office services team at Baker Tilly, an accounting firm in Tysons. Julia is a graduate from George Mason University with a B.A. in International Relations. Julia noted, “Although I’m new to the world of non-profit organizations, I’m excited to learn everything there is to know, and I’m driven to utilize my skills to help the Center nurture students to future leadership in STEM."

Emily Lewis, Executive Assistant to the President, comes to CEE from the world of teaching, having taught Latin for fourteen years first in Massachusetts and then in Virginia. She received her B.A. in Latin from Bryn Mawr College and her M.A. from Boston University. “After years as an educator, I’m very excited to continue supporting education by bringing my organizational expertise to an award-winning organization.” she noted.

    “I’m so delighted to welcome these new staff members to CEE. I’m confident that each will make a significant contribution to the success of the organization,” said Joann DiGennaro, President of CEE.
