CEE’s Annual Congressional Luncheon Goes Virtual

McLean,VA (May 20, 2020) -- The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is hosting the CEE Annual Congressional Luncheon as a virtual event on Friday, May 22. Participants include luminaries from business, education, government, and CEE program alumni.

WHEN: Friday, May 22nd

Time: Noon-2 p.m. ET

“CEE is using innovative technology to host this exciting annual event,” said CEE’s President Joann P. DiGennaro. “The luncheon will bring together STEM leaders in the public and private sectors, friends of CEE, and alumni of the Center’s STEM program’s to hear Honorary Trustees who are Congressional members and Research Science Institute (RSI) and USA Biolympiad (USABO) alumni speak about the importance of science and technology.”

CEE’s annual luncheon celebrates over 36 years of success by its impactful STEM education programs: the Research Science Institute (RSI), USA Biolympiad, and the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP). 

U.S Senator Jacky Rosen (NV) and U.S. Representatives Neal Dunn (FL) and Scott Peters (CA) will give remarks by video. 

Alumni speakers include Shamit Kachru (RSI ’86), Professor of Physics and Director, Stanford Institute for Theoretical Physics; Susan Lee Ko (RSI ’91), a CEE Trustee and consultant; Rachel Seevers (RSI ’18), a student at Harvard University and a 2019 Davidson Fellow and 2019 Glenn T. Seaborg Awardee; and Christopher Wang (USABO ’19 and IBO ’19 Gold Medalist), a student at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.

“The Center’s amazing alumni and their significant contributions to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are helping to assure future U.S. leadership in the global community,” said Ms. DiGennaro.
