CEE Welcomes Two Distinguished New Members to Board

CEE Adds Two Distinguished New Members to Board

McLean, VA – March 9, 2017 – The Center for Excellence in Education is proud to announce Dr. Feng Zhang and Mr. Siddharth B. Shenai have joined the CEE Board of Trustees. Dr. Zhang and Mr. Shenai attended the Center’s 1999 Research Science Institute (RSI).

“Dr. Zhang and Mr. Shenai are exemplary models of students supported by the Center’s programs,” said CEE’s President Joann DiGennaro. “The Center is honored that these outstanding STEM professionals have joined its Board.”

Dr. Zhang is currently a Core Member of the Broad Institute of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard, an Investigator of the McGovern Institute for Bran Research at MIT, a James and Patricia Poitras Professor of Neuroscience, and Associate Professor in the Departments of Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Biological Engineering at MIT, and a New York STEM Cell Foundation – Robertson Investigator.

Dr. Zhang received his A.B. degree in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard University and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University. In 2011, Zhang began his own lab at MIT, pioneering the use of CRISPR-Cas systems as genome editing tools. He and his team successfully harnessed the RNA-guided nuclease Cas9 for mammalian genome editing.

Mr. Shenai joined Bracebridge Capital as a senior investment professional in 2010. Since then, he has been involved in strategies within the sovereign credit and emerging market sectors, including sovereign and quasi-sovereign bonds, financial institution debt and derivatives, and securitizations. As a portfolio manager, he currently oversees the firm’s developed market rates business.

Mr. Shenai graduated with highest honors from Harvard University in 2004 with A.B. and A.M. degress in Physics. He also holds a joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School and is a member of the New York Bar Association.
