CEE ANNOUNCES HONORED MEDALIST
Jane Zhang Honored for Outstanding Leadership and Commitment
to Excellence in Education

McLean, VA – October 22, 2013 –The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is proud to announce that Jane Zhang of Shanghai, China will be honored for outstanding leadership and commitment to excellence in education at the Center’s upcoming 30th anniversary celebration in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ms. Zhang joins Mr. Nicholas Gouletas and Dr. William T. Stuart as distinguished honorees.

The anniversary celebration, October 26-27 at the Cambridge Marriott, commemorates CEE’s 30 years of exceptional leadership in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.  CEE’s programs, the Research Science Institute (RSI), USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), and the Teacher Enrichment Center (TEP), have nurtured young scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science and technology.

Ms. Zhang recognized early the striking success achieved by RSI and worked to support talented students in Shanghai by partnering with CEE to create the Research Science Institute at Fudan University in China. For over ten years, she also has funded two students from Shanghai to attend the Research Science Institute at MIT. Ms. Zhang founded a multinational company based in China and Korea which offers customers internet services, games and applications based on a 3D platform.  Ms. Zhang previously served as President and CEO of the Shanghai Wall Street Strategy Advisors.  She completed her undergraduate studies at a Key School in Shanghai and received her MBA from Georgetown University.  In fact, Ms. Zhang was one of the first two Chinese students ever selected for a MBA program at a U.S. institution of higher education.

“Ms. Zhang has been an extraordinary supporter of CEE and STEM education,” said CEE President Joann DiGennaro. “She is a fearless promoter of academic talent and has worked extensively to expand academic ties between China and the United States.”
