Teacher Enrichment Program Teacher Roundtable
“Inspiring with Excellence: Professional Development with PAEMST Awardees”

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) invites high school teachers to participate in CEE’s Teacher Enrichment Program Teacher Roundtable.  The event is sponsored by CEE and hosted by the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) Center for Integrative STEM Education. TEP Teacher Roundtables aim to serve as a forum for teachers to engage in peer-to-peer learning. This novel professional development opportunity, offered cost free to participating high school STEM teachers, will showcase three Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) winners.  PAEMST Awardees serve as inspiration to their communities and are leaders in the improvement of mathematics and science education.  

TEP Teacher Roundtable will feature:

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) was founded in 1983 by the late Admiral H.G. Rickover and Joann P. DiGennaro, President of the Center. The Center's mission is to nurture high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and to encourage collaboration between and among leaders in the global community. CEE sponsors the Research Science Institute (RSI), the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), and the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP). The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the U.S. government specifically for K-12 mathematics and science (including computer science) teaching. The PAEMST program was established by Congress in 1983 and authorizes the President to bestow up to 108 awards each year. Teachers who develop and implement a high-quality instructional program that is informed by content knowledge and enhances student learning are recognized by the award. More than 4,200 teachers have been recognized, since the program’s inception, for their contributions in the classroom and to their profession.
