New STEM Lyceums Webinar on Aerospace

CEE offers exciting free virtual STEM Lyceums program for high school students.  

McLean, Va., January 30, 2023 – The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is offering high school students a cost-free opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. ET by attending the webinar on the theme of Aerospace. Speakers from the Aerospace Industries Association, NASA, and the University of Michigan will share their professional and educational journeys. Register here.

Sidharth Anantha (RSI ’19) is a student at the University of Michigan, studying Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science. He is a Dragon Launch Intern at SpaceX designing Data Acquisition System (DAQ) and electrical hardware to improve the vehicle checkouts process. He is excited about everything that flies and is passionate about making space travel as common place as air travel is today. He’s a violinist, engineer, robotics tutor, mentor, entrepreneur, and inventor. He also served as Avionics Intern at Blue Origin and an Aerodynamic & Avionics Hardware Verification Lead with the Michigan Aeronautical Science Association.

Grace Wilson Jackson is a Spacecraft Engineer at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. She is a Brooke Owens Fellow, an organization that celebrates a network of over 200 gender-minority aerospace industry professionals. While interning at Aerospace Industries Association, she collaborated with the Team at AIA to understand collective needs and advocate for over 60 member companies engaged in commercial space. Grace earned a B.A. in Astronomy and Peace and Justice Studies from Wellesley College.

Marybeth N. LillyMarybeth Lilly is the Manager of Talent & Workforce Policy at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). In this role, she is responsible for supporting the execution of industry positions, strategies, and programs on all matters related to building and supporting a dynamic future workforce for the aerospace and defense industry and for member companies. Marybeth holds a B.A. in Applied Economics, with minors in Energy & Environmental Policy and Organization & Community Leadership, from the University of Delaware and an M.A. from Villanova University.

This webinar is part of CEE’s STEM Lyceums, a virtual club for high school students to learn about STEM professions and career pathways, provided at no cost to schools or students. Industry professionals share innovative research and offer unique learning experiences, internship opportunities, and scholarship offerings for highly motivated STEM learners. Meetings foster critical thinking skills, encourage excitement for science, and prepare students to enter STEM careers.
