The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE)

has contributed to the scientific leadership of this country since its founding in 1983 by the late Admiral H.G. Rickover, Father of the Nuclear Navy and civilian use for nuclear power; and Joann DiGennaro, CEE’s President. CEE refers to alumni as “Rickoids” in fond honor of the late Admiral H.G. Rickover.

CEE’s programs challenge students and assist them on a long-term basis to become creators, inventors, scientists and leaders of the 21st century.

The Center for Excellence in Education nurtures careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for academically talented high school and college students. CEE encourages collaboration between and among leaders of the world.

The Center sponsors four programs: the Research Science Institute (RSI), the USA Biolympiad (USABO), the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP), and STEM Lyceums.  All four are offered cost-free to participants.  RSI alumni represent six continents.  CEE program alumni travel as guests of foreign nations and educational organizations to promote global understanding and cooperation.

CEE’s programs are made possible by individuals, foundations, corporations, governmental agencies, and by scholars who contribute their time and experience to CEE. Please use this site to find out more about CEE’s programs and how you can help, or contact the Center.

Programs

CEE programs are nationally and internationally recognized for providing opportunities to some of the world’s greatest young minds through collaborations with educational institutions, foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals who share a commitment to educational excellence.

To keep and grow U.S. innovation and leadership in science and technology will require investment that identifies and nurtures top achieving students. For 40 years the Center for Excellence in Education has provided internationally recognized programs for thousands of high school and college scholars, free-of-cost to them. The Center’s Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP) and STEM Lyceums are partner programs designed to help high school students from under-resourced communities to discover and explore pathways to careers in STEM.  There are no other programs like those of CEE, but more resources are needed to scale up to meet the STEM leadership needs of the future.
