Representative Susan A. Davis, Honorary Member of the
Center for Excellence in Education’s Board of Trustees

McLean, Virginia –June 13, 2011 – The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is pleased to announce that Congresswoman Susan A. Davis, representing California’s 53rd Congressional District, has become an Honorary Member of the CEE Board of Trustees.

Congresswoman Davis is known for legislating as a bipartisan consensus builder in achieving successes in education, health care, election reform, military families and veterans’ support. She is a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, serving as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Military Personnel. Congresswoman Davis also served on the House Committee on Veterans Affairs for three years.

“I look forward to working with the Center for Excellence in Education to further its mission and educational goals. The Center’s programs encourage U.S. students to excel in science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” said Congresswoman Davis. “I anticipate working with the Center to reach this nation’s goal of taking students and teachers to the next level of educational achievement so this country sustains its competitive edge.”

Congresswoman Davis replaces the Honorable Jane Harman, former CEE Trustee, who represented California in the House of Representatives until she assumed responsibility as President and CEO of the Woodrow Wilson Center.
