CEE to Host Webinar of STEM in Healthcare

McLean, Va., March 30, 2023 – The Center for Excellence in Education’s (CEE) Teacher Enrichment Program presents a cost-free webinar about career opportunities in healthcare. This virtual program takes place on Thursday, March 30, 2023, 5:00-6:15 p.m. ET via Zoom. Register online.

Distinguished speaker:

Shirley Lefler Bazdar is Program manager for the Claude Moore Scholars/Healthcare Education program. She spent eleven years working for the Manassas Park City Schools and nineteen years working for the Loudoun County Public Schools. She has served as a career and technical education teacher (marketing education), coach, high school administrator, and director of career and technical education within Northern Virginia. Additionally, Shirley has served on the Northern Virginia Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) board for 8 years and served as the liaison to the Loudoun Education Foundation and Loudoun School-Business Partnership for 15 years. The sole focus of her career has been to provide high school students with career pathways and opportunities that would prepare them to be college and career ready.

CEE’s Teacher Enrichment Program provides unique STEM opportunities for high school teachers to take back to their classrooms. All TEP resources and professional development events are cost-free to participants. To date, more than 4,000 teachers from over 1,400 schools have participated. The program has reached nearly 600,000 underserved rural and urban students to consider STEM careers. Recordings of presentations for teachers are catalogued on YouTube.
