New STEM Lyceums Webinar on STEM in Health Sciences

CEE offers exciting free virtual STEM Lyceums program for high school students.

McLean, Va. (April 20, 2023) – The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is offering high school students a cost-free opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers in health sciences on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. ET. Distinguished speakers are:

Jasmine George, PhD, Manager of Advocacy Programs at Research!America,  earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and an MS in Biomedical Research and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Physiology at Morehouse School of Medicine. She also served within quality control for Noramco, Inc a former subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson.

Katie Hoover is Clinical Systems Director at NeoImmuneTech. She leads international teams to implement and manage cloud-based applications. The systems house critical documentation and data for highly regulated clinical trials. She has a breadth of experience from drug discovery and analytical chemistry development to digital systems process and clinical studies. Katie earned a BS in Biology and a BA in English from Virginia Tech and is a 1992 CEE Research Science Institute alum.

Meredith Lewis BSN, RN, CCRN works in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Duke University Hospital. She studied at Radford University’s school of nursing. She grew up in Loudoun County, Virginia, graduating from Tuscarora High School in 2017.

This webinar is part of CEE’s STEM Lyceums, a virtual club for high school students to learn about STEM professions and career pathways, provided at no cost to schools or students. Industry professionals share innovative research and offer unique learning experiences, internship opportunities, and scholarship offerings for highly motivated STEM learners. Meetings foster critical thinking skills, encourage excitement for science, and prepare students to enter STEM careers.
